When God Doesn't Make Sense

Between February 2005-2007, members of the Colombian National Association of Evangelical Churches (CEDECOL) completed their distribution of 75,000 Spanish copies of Dr. Dobson’s book, When God Doesn’t Make Sense, to guerrilla insurgents, paramilitary rebels, army personnel and Christians impacted by Colombia’s 50-year civil war, resulting in many open hearts to Christ.

Focus on the Family Canada

In February, 2006, Focus on the Family Canada officially opened the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada (IMFC). Located in Ottawa within blocks of Parliament, the IMFC is a think tank devoted to producing credible research which promotes and supports the well-being of marriage and the family.

Focus on the Family Canada

Focus Canada was established in 1983 and has a staff of 80 that strives to provide quality resources and compassionate care through radio broadcasts (reaching an estimated 1 mil.), assisting constituents (over the phone, Internet and through mail), and participation in community outreach programs. The head office is in Langley, British Columbia. Currently, they are increasing their volunteer base and seminar/event presence in Canada.

When Focus on the Family Canada opened its doors, Dr. Dobson's radio broadcast was only reaching Canadian listeners through U.S. stations located near the border. Today, it is carried on 125 stations covering 90 per cent of English-speaking Canada, with an estimated listening audience of one million Canadians. The radio programs deal with topics such as raising children with special needs, personal spiritual growth, education and parenting styles, and marital issues.

The broadcasting effort is strengthened through Focus on the Family Canada's contact with constituents. The head office in Langley, British Columbia, receives over 100,000 letters and 55,000 phone calls from constituents annually. The highly trained and experienced staff members speak directly with Canadian callers to pray with them and support them in all stages of life.

Constituent outreach extends into communities and churches. Some of the community outreach programs they have are How to Drug Proof Your Kids, marriage and parenting seminars, and the Partner Church Program.

The Canadian ministry is increasing its volunteer base and seminar/event presence in Canada. It is also coming alongside churches to provide care and resources to clergy and their families. Resources and information are available to empower Canadians to make a positive difference in their communities and in the legislatures and Parliament of Canada.

By providing programs that teach, resources that uplift, Biblical tools for spiritual growth, counseling referrals and much more, they aim to be the place Canadian families turn to for help and encouragement.
