Focus on the Family, Taiwan

Focus on the Family, Taiwan, which began in 1997, is on a mission to help build healthy Chinese families and eventually bring them to Jesus Christ.

To accomplish those goals, Focus on the Family, Taiwan with a staff of 8, publishes a monthly magazine, distributes books, broadcasts radio programs, puts together seminars, gives lectures, organizes activities and provides counseling for the people of Taiwan.

The organization’s monthly magazine, called “Ai-Jia,” contains articles on all dimensions of family life including marital issues, divorce, raising children and relational conflict. The magazine also provides the schedule of all Focus on the Family, Taiwan activities and introduction of its new books. The organization has already published 21 books, including the Chinese translations of Dr. James Dobson’s best selling books The New Dare to Discipline, The New Hide or Seek and Solid Answers.

In the broadcast arena, the organization airs Dr. Dobson’s Focus on the Family—-International Daily program every weekday afternoon on Good News For Modern, a Christian radio station in the Greater Taipei Area. The staffs also share family messages through other national radio stations once or twice a week.

Professional counselors and pastors can also benefit from Focus on the Family, Taiwan’s activities. The organization conducts marital and premarital education training workshops that teach the ministry members how to help couples build healthy marriages. The staffs are often invited to churches, schools and other organizations to give lectures or lead encounter groups.

A highlight is the team provides youth outreach through No Apologies. Since launching the program last year they have reached 3,400 students.

Focus on the Family, Taiwan has also designed family lectures and activities for families to partake in once a month. The goal is to help all the family members enjoy outdoor activities together. The participants can benefit from sharing experiences with other families and listening to useful family tips provided by the staffs.
